Visual and Performing Arts Hub
Visual & Performing Arts Hub
Across the Caribbean there is no publicly accessible, centralised repository of indigenous Caribbean artistic content. This severely limits the ability of students and researchers to incorporate such material in their work and artists to get the level of market exposure they deserve. Further, the too often endemic absence of documentation and archiving of these works and teachings often results in a loss to history on the demise of their producers.
The Visual and Performing Arts Hub (VAPA Hub) addresses this need by providing a fully integrated digital archive/catalogue and marketplace for such material.
We plan to deploy this platform on a phased basis, beginning in Trinidad & Tobago and then expanding across the Caribbean and beyond. In its first phase, it will provide a digital archive and virtual field trip portal to support the 5th & 6th Form Secondary School Visual & Performing Arts Syllabus.
Endowment for the Creative Arts and Sciences
The Patrons of the Arts Foundation is currently working with a major financial institution towards the development of an endowment fund for the Arts.
Its goal is to develop a self-financing instrument which will attract investment from local and international sources with a view to supporting projects, infrastructure, education and institutional strengthening. This is a long term initiative which we anticipate will engender greater self-sufficiency and economic productivity in the sector.
