POSITION TITLE: Archives Intern (Part-Time)

SUMMARY:
AIP is looking for two part-time Archives Interns to join our Niels Bohr Library & Archives (NBLA) team in a grant funded initiative to draw attention to the key role that women have played and are playing in advancing the physical sciences by providing better access to archival collections that highlight the contributions and work of women.
The Archives Intern will work with NBLA staff to support core activities of this project, including working with archivists to ingest, accession, and process physical and digital manuscript materials, photographs, and archival collections. Duties also include rehousing physical collection materials and arranging digital collection materials as needed, metadata creation (including MARC catalog records), finding aids, and other metadata projects to support the NBLA digital repository (

COMPENSATION: $15-$19 per hour, up to 20 hours per week.

The team works in a flexible, hybrid schedule and reports to our offices in College Park, Maryland and Washington, DC, as needed. Employees are required to reside in the DC Metro regions of Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC.
