Position Overview The Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer (CMBDO) will be a key member of the firm’s leadership team, shaping growth and market presence. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the CMBDO should bring deep industry experience, innovative thinking, and strong relationship management skills to align strategies with firmwide goals. This highly visible role requires a leader who can elevate the firm’s brand, enhance client engagement, and position the firm competitively in the legal market. Responsibilities Leadership and Management Collaborate on strategic planning and firmwide initiatives. Lead the MBD team, fostering a high-performing, proactive culture through effective management and development. Prioritize marketing and BD efforts across practice groups, offices, and industries to maximize impact. Implement and refine marketing strategies using data-driven insights. Manage marketing budgets and vendor relationships. Establish credibility with firm leaders, attorneys, staff, and clients. Business Development Drive and evaluate the firm’s strategic MBD plan. Lead cross-selling initiatives and client retention strategies. Develop business development plans for offices, practices, and industries. Support client growth initiatives and prepare high-quality client materials. Conduct market research and competitive analysis. Implement training programs for attorneys on marketing and BD best practices. Marketing and Branding Create a cohesive brand strategy positioning the firm as a leading mid-market firm. Lead digital marketing efforts, including website management, content strategy, and analytics. Oversee event execution to maximize ROI. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 10 years’ experience in professional services or legal marketing. Leadership experience managing MBD teams. Strong executive presence and marketplace awareness.
