Coder II - Health Information Management - Full Time Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services provided pay range: $28.00/hr - $38.00/hr Principle Duties And Responsibilities Coding of all medical records Release clinical information in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and legal and regulatory requirements. Verify ICD-10-CM, CPT codes for billing purposes and other hospital applications as necessary. Produce computerized reports as requested. Attend required meetings and in-services related to job. Route copies of all billing information and medical reports requested by physicians. Request appropriate reference materials such as coding guidelines from the HIM Director as needed to complete tasks accurately. Assist with Master Patient Index maintenance and data integrity. Assist other medical record personnel to clear up backlogs, search for records, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Locate records and various medical reports for physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel. Answer telephone professionally and seek additional information from others when unable to answer phone requests for information. Perform other duties as requested by HIM Director.
