Job Description CostQuest Associates is a leader in broadband consulting, offering GIS-based economic modeling, data, and application development for the telecommunications industry. Role Overview As a Database Developer, you'll work closely with development and analytics teams to ensure the integrity, performance, and scalability of our database systems. You will be responsible for developing efficient SQL queries, optimizing existing code, and supporting both SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments. If you have data development experience, a keen attention to detail, and a desire to learn, then this is the position for you. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using SQL Server and PostgreSQL Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions Collaborate with various teams to support data-driven initiatives and integrate database components into applications Build and optimize workflows for analytics, reporting, and operational processes Design and manage database schemas, tables, indexes, and other data objects Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with industry standards Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing strategies Provide technical support and troubleshoot data-related issues Document data workflows, database structures, and ETL processes Maintain documentation standards for data processes Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Database or SQL Developer Proficiency in SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including design, query optimization, and performance tuning Strong knowledge of database design, normalization, and performance tuning Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Java, VB.NET, or PowerShell Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration techniques Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality data solutions Understanding of data security and compliance requirements Ability to work independently and collaboratively Other Requirements Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and data services is a plus Familiarity with version control systems (Git) Experience with backup and recovery strategies Work Environment & Requirements Hybrid work model based in Cincinnati, OH Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check Occasional travel to Seattle or other locations Resided in the U.S. for the past 3 years Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary and benefits Full-time, permanent position Bonus pay, profit sharing, ESOP, 401(k) matching Health insurance (company-paid dental, vision, life, LTD) Employee assistance, flexible schedule, health savings account Vacation (15+ days), sick leave, paid holidays, parental leave Professional development and tuition reimbursement Equal Opportunity Employer CostQuest is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
