Position Title: Environmental Specialist Location: Green River, WY Key Responsibilities Conduct routine environmental monitoring, including air, water, vegetation, and other sampling as required by permits and authorizations Conduct reclamation and noxious weed removal activities in coordination with contractors and the Environmental Engineers Ensure groundwater dewatering systems are operated and maintained in compliance with permit requirements Maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment Perform field inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits Collect data for environmental impact assessments, audits, and compliance reports Assist in the implementation of environmental remediation or mitigation measures when needed Provide detailed field reports and collaborate with other environmental professionals to analyze data Train employees and contractors on relevant environmental subject matter Activities Interact with contractors, employees, and local, state, and federal regulatory agencies Provide business support and guidance on environmental compliance requirements and methods to resolve environmental issues, where appropriate Assist Environmental Engineers with preparing regulatory reports for air quality permits, waterfowl permits, mining permits, UIC permits, TSCA, RCRA and others as needed Conduct ambient air, point source, groundwater, soil, waste, and other sampling activities and inspections Obtain and maintain required and appropriate certifications (e.g., opacity) Support hazardous waste shipments and stack testing in collaboration with Environmental Engineers Participate in the waterfowl program as primary fill-in when needed Maintain environmental records Investigate and report environmental incidents, and recommend mitigation Provide support for capital projects Participates in ISO 9001 management system activities Assist with sustainability metrics and reporting Perform safety and environmental audits Skills, Capability And Educational Requirements A.S. or B.S. in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Math with an environmental emphasis Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams Preferred 1+ years of experience in an environmental role at an industrial or mining site WE Soda is an equal opportunity employer.
