There are immediate openings for a Head Custodians at Ivan Green Primary School and Durand Eastman Intermediate School. This is a competitive Civil Service position. This is a 12-month, 8-hour per day position, working 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Job responsibilities are but not limited to the following: Supervises and schedules the work of subordinates; Conducts inspections of cleaning activities to ensure they are performed according to regulations; Maintains an inventory of supplies and orders as needed; Assists with maintenance and custodial work as necessary. This includes creating and updating work orders in Master Library; Ensures basic security of buildings (ex. windows, doors, roof hatches are secure); Conducts monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and roof drains; Conducts daily routine inspections (ex. takes readings) of areas/equipment such as fan rooms, boilers, walk-in coolers/freezers, and swimming pools (leaks, pumps etc.); Reviews exception sheets for accuracy; Maintains grounds where applicable including snow removal. Responsible for cleaning assigned area daily;Coordinates and supervises summer cleaning work;Performs yearly asset tracking for building;Checks scheduler on daily basis and works with office staff to determine custodial needs for building use activities; Complete an online application and upload any necessary documents.
