Description SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM LOCATION: 444 Harrison Ave. Boston and other regional locations as needed. This position is eligible for hybrid work pursuant to PSI’s Remote Work Policy and is considered “non-essential” in the event of emergency or weather. Summary of Position The Supervisor of Medical Billing will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of PSI’s billing processes are efficient and effective. They will develop partnerships and financial awareness within the department and with PSI’s finance team. The position requires understanding and addressing compliance issues and interfacing with external agencies as needed. They will be part of the customer service/training team for PSI’s internal staff and departments. The role also involves direct staff management, building, and maintaining a cohesive, cross-trained team. Requirements Qualifications Education/Training Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in third-party payer requirements and functions, including experience with Electronic Health Records processes and systems. Preferred Significant supervisory experience (4+ years) in a claims/medical billing environment. Knowledge/Experience Ability to train and supervise employees; organize, prioritize, and schedule tasks effectively. Initiative and ability to work independently. High computer literacy and knowledge of Electronic Health Records, analytical skills. Knowledge of Commercial and MassHealth coverage, ACOs, MCOs. Experience with healthcare authorizations, medical insurance/healthcare terminology, billing, and collections. Understanding rules/regulations affecting Behavioral Health services, medical billing, and insurance verification. Deep knowledge of revenue cycle, collections, payment posting, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers. Proficiency with CPT, ICD9 codes, 835, 837, HCFA 1500. Basic accounting principles and business management skills for collaboration with Finance. Preferred Knowledge of CSP-HI, Stabilization, Recovery Coach, and other Behavioral Health Services. Familiarity with payer portals and functionality. Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
