Full Time General Psychiatrist - flexible schedule & very competitive compensation

Valley Behavioral Health is a 114 bed facility, located on a beautiful campus in the Arkansas River Valley, offering the highest quality treatment in the area.

Our sub-acute inpatient, inpatient, and outpatient programs for men, women, and children provide a safe structure where individuals can focus on healing themselves and working through their issues. At Valley Behavioral Health, all levels of care & treatment services are under the medical direction of board certified psychiatrists, with each patient receiving personalized treatment by a multi-disciplinary team of therapists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, educational specialists, Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, recreational specialists, and a team of other caring mental health professionals. Overview:

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate and facility policy or procedures.
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documenting services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance, and billing in accordance with policy and procedures.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
• One or more years of post-graduate degree practice preferred.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility operates.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Board certification in psychiatry.
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
