About the Opportunity:

A premier Am Law 100 firm is seeking a Health Counsel or Senior Counsel with deep expertise in food law to join its nationally recognized Health Care & Life Sciences practice in Washington, D.C. This role is ideal for attorneys with FDA experience and a passion for advising clients in the food and life sciences sectors on regulatory strategy, transactions, and compliance matters.

What You’ll Do:

  • Advise domestic and international clients on FDA regulatory matters related to food, beverages, and dietary supplements
  • Provide transactional support, including due diligence and regulatory risk assessments for mergers, acquisitions, and investments
  • Counsel clients on product labeling, advertising, and promotional practices in compliance with FDA and USDA regulations
  • Develop and review regulatory submissions, including GRAS notices and food contact notifications
  • Monitor and interpret legislative and policy developments affecting the food industry
  • Interface directly with government agencies (FDA, USDA) on behalf of clients
  • Draft and negotiate regulatory aspects of commercial agreements
  • Collaborate with cross-practice teams on multidisciplinary projects

What You Bring:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • At least 6 years of food law experience , including regulatory compliance and transactional support
  • Experience working with or at the FDA required
  • Familiarity with USDA regulatory frameworks is a plus
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • A collaborative mindset and client-service orientation
