Internship (Hours/Schedule Varies) Grow Your Clinical Skills While Supporting Youth & Families The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking compassionate and motivated Clinical Interns (MFT and LPC track) to join our Clinical Services Department . In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience providing supervised clinical support to children, adolescents, and families in a mission-driven setting. You’ll participate in assessment, treatment planning, individual and family sessions, and documentation while learning best practices in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. What You’ll Do As Clinical Intern , you will: Provide supervised clinical services (individual, family, and/or group) aligned with program needs Support intake/assessment processes and contribute to treatment planning Participate in clinical team meetings , case conferences, and consultation Complete timely documentation in accordance with agency standards and confidentiality requirements Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to support client progress and continuity of care Engage in supervision and professional development activities to build competency and meet program requirements What We’re Looking For Current graduate student in a COAMFTE-accredited MFT program or CACREP-aligned counseling program (LPC track), or equivalent Strong interest in working with children/adolescents and families Commitment to ethical practice, reliability, and professionalism Ability to learn and apply clinical feedback in supervision Basic comfort with documentation and use of electronic records (training provided as needed) Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the program/site as needed for sessions, meetings, and client support. Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting with frequent interpersonal interaction and occasional high-stimulation environments (noise, interruptions, or emotional intensity). Ability to maintain attention and composure when exposed to sensitive clinical content, including crises or challenging client behaviors (with supervision and support). Potential exposure to bodily fluids and other environmental hazards in residential, school-based, or milieu settings.
